Over 70% of deaths in the USA are diet-related (as stated by the U.S. Surgeon General).

This analysis, in the Lancet, found that our daily diet is a bigger killer than smoking. The majority of the foods and drinks consumed in the Western World are acidic. Along with lack of exercise, stress, pharmaceutical use.. all leading to a epidemic in acidosis.

A recent research project from the prestigious Cambridge University found that…. “A deficiency in alkaline minerals in our foods leads to acidosis…Is a real phenomenon, and has a significant, clinical, long-term physiological effect that should be recognised and potentially counterbalanced. The effects of deficiency can directly contribute to various cancers, arthritis, osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, depression/psychological disfunction, Crohns disease and kidney disease”

What is Acidosis?

Our body needs balance. Our blood pH and lymph pH needs to be at 7.365. The body will do whatever it takes to regulate this, just as it regulates your temperature. within a narrow window.

Any variation wreaks havoc on bodily processes, tissues and systems (digestion, cardio) and the body will do everything to maintain the balance.

Acidosis is when our blood/lymph pH becomes overly acid.

An overly acidic life, makes the body undergo huge stress to get back into balance. Tell tale signs that your body is struggling to regulate this include acne, eczema, fatigue, cardiovascular disease, premature ageing, loss of hair, brittle nails, mental health problems, liver disease, kidney failure, osteoporosis, psoriasis, frequent coughs and colds, PMS, mood disorders, obesity, Type II diabetes, athletes foot, low sex drive, dizziness etc etc etc.

What Causes These Problems?

They are a combination of the direct stress from consuming acid foods, and also the side effects of the body having to re-balance. For example, the body will leach calcium from bones to neutralise acid – causing osteoporosis.

Are You Fat? OR Acidic?

We “park” excess acid that can’t be dealt with in fat around the body. (Heard of visceral fat? Pot belly?)

It cannot burn this fat as long as it is acidic. And this, my lean and healthy reader, is why it’s SO difficult to lose weight when acidic.

Acid is also excreted through the skin and may be observed as eczema, headaches, cramps, acne, boils, irritation, swelling, inflammation, excess oils, rosacea or other skin/nail/hair problems.

Even our cells start to degrade due to over-acidity, and overacidity gives rise to inflammation rises all over the body… this is called “the aging process”.
(It’s amazing. Acidity causes inflammation, But inflammation causes acidity.. which causes inflammation!
