Filter replacement
The UltraStream twin filter is designed to perform optimally for approximately 12 months or until it processes around 3,000 litres of water—whichever comes first. 12 months lifespan is based on typical family use (~8 glasses/day). In Australia, we do not currently have a method of disposing of these type of filters for recycling, due to the hazardous waste they contain, after filtering. It would require specialized recycling facilities that can safely extract and dispose of the hazardous materials, which we currently do not have in Australia, so they will need to be thrown in the garbage bin and allowed to break down slowly over time.
