What is Alkaline Water?
Alkalinity and pH are related but not the same thing – they measure different properties of water.
pH measures how acidic or basic the water is on a scale of 0 to 14. Below 7 is acidic, 7 is neutral, and above 7 is alkaline.
Alkalinity measures water’s capacity to neutralize acids-how much “buffering power” the water has. Alkaline water is controlled mainly by alkaline minerals in the water.
