What is Chlorgon™?
Chlorgon™ is Sprite’s patented filtration medium — a combination of copper, zinc, and calcium salts (a KDF-based / mineral salt blend). It works via a redox (reduction-oxidation) process to convert both free chlorine and combined chlorine into harmless chloride ions.
Unlike carbon-only filters, Chlorgon works exceptionally well in hot water — making it perfect for shower use where steam and heat would render standard carbon filters ineffective.

Everything you need to know about UltraStream water filters
Yes! Sprite units are manufactured to fit standard ½ inch NPT threading — the current industry standard which will fit all shower fittings in Australia.
Upon installation of a new unit or cartridge, we recommend running the water on full hot for 3-5 minutes before cooling to your desired temperature to activate the filtration media.
Chlorgon removes free chlorine (Cl₂), combined chlorine (sodium hypochlorite), hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg smell), iron oxide (rust water), dirt, sediment, and odours — plus it maintains pH balance.
It depends on the model: High Output lasts up to 12 months (~95,000L), the Shower Head filter lasts ~6 months (~38,000L), and the Hose Filter lasts ~3 months (~11,300L). Replacement is quick and easy.
Absolutely! Unlike carbon-only filters, Chlorgon technology works effectively across all temperatures from hot to cold, making it ideal for shower use.
