Acid versus Alkaline
At the very heart of our vitality and physical well being is a life-and-death balancing act between acid and alkaline.
Too much acid and we may become vulnerable to a vast array of so-called “modern-day” illnesses and diseases from arthritis, asthma, allergies and migraine to high blood pressure, chronic fatigue, early ageing, excess weight, eczema and other skin complaints and even serious, life-threatening conditions.
The real problem with the typical Australian diet is that it is over-acidic.
The internationally-recommended diet for optimum human health consists of foods that are 80% alkaline and 20% acidic.
The typical Australian diet, consisting as it does of meat, cheese, butter, bread, sugar, coffee, alcohol and soft drinks, is at least 90% acidic.
On top of this, everyday stress makes our bodies extremely acidic. Pollution in the very air we breathe is acidic. All rainwater collected and stored in tanks is acidic. Distilled and reverse osmosis water is acidic. Most bottled water is acidic. Even some council-regulated tap water is acidic.
Realistically, to maintain a natural healthy alkaline balance is far from easy. Most doctors and researchers estimate that to remain alkaline through diet would require a turnabout from 80% acid-producing foods to 80% alkali-producing foods.
Modern lifestyle demands better alternatives. Until recently in the West, alkaline ionised water was never considered as a viable alkaline health maintenance method. In the least ten years, it has proven itself an excellent and fundamental source of alkalizing power. AlkaWay, along with EmcoTech, have been supplying the Alkaway range of water alkalizers to satisfied clients for ten years. In that time, Emcotech's unparalelled dedication to research and development has paid off and made it the largest output water alkaliser manufacturer in the world. Their patented autocleanse and easy operation features make them the number one choice around the world.
Dr Theodore Baroody: Alkaline Pioneer
Dr Baroody was so convinced that the world needed to know about alkaline balance, he wrote a book called 'Alkalize or Die'. Here's how he describes the importance of alkalizing:
"The countless names attached to illnesses do not really matter. What does matter is that they all come from the same root cause – too much tissue acid waste in the body!"
In the human body the level of acidity or alkalinity is measured in terms of the pH levels in our blood and tissues. pH is the abbreviated term for 'potential hydrogen'’. The higher the pH reading, the more alkaline the fluid is.
The lower the pH reading, the more acidic it is. The pH range is from 0 to 14 with 7.0 being neutral. Anything above 7.0 is alkaline. Anything below is considered acidic. Body tissues function optimally at a slightly alkaline pH of 7.365.
If the alkaline level in our blood drops to below 7.0, we die.
Medical experts speak out.
Because of the obvious benefits of this simple health strategy many papers and books are now appearing extolling the valiue of alkalizing as a health strategy.
