The Hindu Newspaper site reports that a ‘city based’ scientist says that a good bath full of minerals is the answer to genetic defects, and that it’s as good to have a bath in ionized water as it is to drink it.
Hmmm…
here’s the story.

Chemical-Affected Fish Don’t Feel Like Eating When Zonked
Well, Du-Oh!
CLEMSON, SC — Clemson University toxicologists have found that hybrid striped bass exposed to the antidepressant fluoxetine, which has been detected in some surface waters, are less interested in feeding than other fish and often display behaviors that make them easier prey for predators, according to a July 21 Scientific American article.
Antidepressants like fluoxetine, the active ingredient in Prozac, block the reuptake by neurons of serotonin, a neurotransmitter strongly tied to emotion, appetite and aggression, according to the article.
For the study, researchers Stephen Klaine and Kristen Gaworecki exposed the fish to varying amounts of the drug — zero, 35, 75 and 150 micrograms per liter — over six days, followed by a six-day period in clean water. The fish were offered four live fathead minnows every three days, according to the article.
“In general, it took exposed bass longer [than bass not given the drug] to eat each minnow. Some bass exposed to the higher levels of fluoxetine pretty much gave up trying to capture prey by the third or fourth minnow. They really didn’t have the kind of appetite the controls had,” said Klaine.
Bass exposed to the greatest amount of the drug also behaved strangely for their species, staying at the top of the tank with their dorsal fin above the waterline or tilting to a vertical position, two actions that would make them easy targets for predators in the wild, according to the article.
Hmm… reminds me of some people around my home town, Byron Bay!
Crazy Water

Now here’s a company that ‘believes’ in the power of their water. Billed as capable of all sorts of miraculous cures, Crazy water has been creating stories (and Myths) for a long, long time.
What’s so special about it? Well, well, it’s well water.
The water was first discovered when settler James Lynch drilled a well on his property in 1880. When his family began to drink the odd-tasting water, their health problems, such as frailty and rheumatism, reportedly were cured. Legend has it that a woman with mental problems was cured by the water over a century ago, earning the water the name “Crazy Water,” according to the article.
The company’s Web site lists dyspepsia, neuralgia, sore eyes, paralysis, insomnia, liver and kidney problems, rheumatism, scrofula, and blood problems as some of the maladies that could be cured by Crazy Water.
But if you take a look at the mineral analysis it’s pretty clear that apart from the lithium, which may explain its mental cure stories, it’s good ol’ alkaline water!

Rebalancing the Earth by rebalancing our tyres.
LA Times tells us that something we have all become accustomed to is about to be phased out under the increasingly green hand of The Terminator Arnie, California’s green-progressive governor. Already banned in 2005 Europe and being phased out in Japan and Korea, lead wheel balance weights are to be replaced by alternate materials. It seems that lead weights end up in landfill and as such pose a serious long term community health hazard.
Here in Aussie, it’s ostrich time with our legislators’ head planted firmly in our lead saturated earth.

So your partner has Body Odour?
Here’s how you could approach the problem using NVC (Non-Violent Communication)
When Someone Doesn’t Appreciate Our Honesty
Not everyone will receive your honesty with joy. If they seem unhappy, this is an indication that they have unmet needs, not that you have made them unhappy.
Remember that feelings are a result of met or unmet needs; a situation is only the stimulus of feelings, not the cause. When someone doesn’t appreciate your honesty, try empathizing with them.
What if your partner has body odor that you find offensive?
You could say to him, “Honey, when we are physically close and I smell your body odor, I feel kind of grossed out and it’s hard for me to want to be intimate with you. Would you be willing to start wearing deodorant?” Maybe your partner won’t enjoy hearing this, so he might say, “Oh come on. It can’t be that bad!” Now is the time for you to empathize. “Are you feeling hurt and embarrassed because you value tolerance?” “Well, yeah. Plus, you know that I don’t like to put unnatural crap on my body!” “So, you’d really like understanding that you don’t wear deodorant because you value your health?” “Yeah!” “You know, I hear that you show respect for your body by not putting chemicals on yourself. I respect that too. At the same time, I am concerned because your body odor is strong enough that I resist being close to you. Would you be willing to go to the health food store and look for a more natural deodorant? Or, maybe would you be willing to take a shower and change your clothes every day?” “Well, yeah, I guess I could go the health food store and look for a natural alternative to deodorant. I’ll do that tomorrow after work. And, I’ll go take a shower right now.”
When we withhold our truth or lie, we can create emotional and physical distance in our relationships. By being honest, we can strengthen them.
Acidic Oceans?
“Dear Ian,
I have been onto your website for a while now and saving up madly so we can purchase one of the alkalizers…as you probably are aware we are still fighting a desalination plant down here in Wonthaggi and Dalyston and Kilcunda…….I remember an article about ocean acidosis occurring around the world at the desalination sites and I just cannot remember whose site I was on. I am emailing to see if you know anything about acidosis in the oceans…I am not an internet explorer yet not up to scratch when it comes to finding what I want.If you have that article could you please do me a favour and put it on your HealtheMail…
Thank you in anticipation Rita”
Rita,
acidosis is happening worldwide. It’s pretty obvious.. keep on adding acidic wastes to any living body, be it sea or plant or human and the result will be dead areas just like the massive one south of New Orleans right now. Regarding desal plants, I have no such data. It doesn’t really make sense as the waste water from RO plants would be more alkaline than input.
Hope this helps, Ian
My Friend Graeme reports from Thailand.
Graeme is a long term alkaline water drinker. He reports in to us with a visit every few months and it’s been wonderful to see the changes in him over the years.
He has recently moved to Thailand but still keeps up his water habit.
Here’s a note from him I received this week:
“As an aside to your blog story about non violent communication, the B.O. subject struck a nerve because it was a problem for me for many years, especially bad breath and smelly feet because I was acid as hell. Now that I am fairly well balanced (due largely to the consumption of 2-4 litres of alkaline water from my Melody every day) all of that has disappeared and Yam (Graeme’s partner) regularly comments on how good I smell, which is great for both of us.”
Would you like Coke with that?
Not content to take over local water bottling businesses, CocaCola in Australia (The company that clothed Santa Claus in red and white) has now created its own water filter company. So lucky us: Any gas station, supermarket, drug store/chemist, corner store has CocaCola owned plastic bottled water. The salesman who knocked on our company door or home front door selling water deliveries was probably employed by Coke. And now the proprietary water filters sold by coke are moving into the last area of water supply.
Here’s their cleverly disguised site. Not a Coke bottle in sight.

Alkaline Water for Dawgs
We had a great story awhile ago from a client who 'resurrected' his Great Dane using AlkaWay ionized water. It was an amazing story, but now we hear that a company has decided it's so darn good that they should bottle it and sell it in pet stores! Check the story here
